What do we do?
Students from the Save the Children building next door come over once a week and we teach them the essential skill of swimming in our very own pool. It is a great opportunity if you enjoy teaching, a challenge or just being in the pool. We also work with girls from Sharanam NGO (supported by US Embassy)
What challenges do we face?
Many of the children are handicapped in their ability to hear, therefore communication can be difficult at first, but after a few sessions with them you get to understand their own sign language and then communication with each other is not such a problem.
Who can join?
Anybody who wants to can join, you don’t need to be good at swimming, we teach the children in both the big and the small pool, you just have to be willing to help.
